African Contest is a song contest hosted on Instagram since October 2017, inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest.
Each country's Head of Delegation gets to select an entry for each edition either by internal selection or national selection. In all editions the participants voted in their semi final (if semis were held) and in the final in order to determine the qualifiers and the winner of each edition.
So far, nine different countries have won the competition and therefore hosted the contest, Ghana being the only country that won the contest twice. Ghana is also the only country that hosted the contest more than once, hosting it 3 times in their capital city Accra. A total of 53 countries competed in the contest so far.
